Training Workshop & Establishment of e-Office Connectivity at Various Research Centres in Gilgit-Baltistan

As part of the Government of Pakistan’s digital transformation initiative and the nationwide implementation of the e-Office platform under the NITB; The Directorate of MIS & ICT, PARC from Hqrs, Islamabad, organized a series of hands-on training workshops at various PARC research centers in Gilgit-Baltistan, including MARC-Jaglote, MARS Skardu, MARS Chillas & AQD, Gilgit-Baltistan.


1. Training Workshop & Establishment of e-Office Connectivity at MARC-Jaglote.

Venue: MARC-Jaglote

A comprehensive training workshop was held at the Mountain Agricultural Research Centre (MARC)-Jaglote, Gilgit-Baltistan. The session was led by Mr. Amanullah, Director (MIS) including Mr. Muhammad Jawad, Deputy Director (MIS).

The workshop was attended by scientists, officers, and administrative staff of MARC, Gilgit along with additional participants from MARS, Chillas. & MARS, Skardu

 It was formally inaugurated by Dr. Maqsood Qamar, Director General, MARC-Gilgit, who welcomed the team and emphasized the critical role of digital platforms in enhancing institutional efficiency and transparency. Notably, Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Incharge MARS Skardu, and Mr. Rahmat Kabir, Incharge MARS Chillas, were also present during the session

Participants were provided with practical demonstrations of e-Office functionalities, including digital file movement, approval workflows, and inter-departmental communication tools

Following the e-Office session, additional training on the e-Pak Acquisition & Disposal System (EPADS) system was conducted by Mr. Arqam Haroon, Deputy Director (Logistics), and Mr. Abdul Rehman, Assistant Director (Procurement). They provided in-depth guidance on the use of e-PADS for digital approvals and procurement processes, further enhancing the participants’ understanding of integrated digital tools.

As part of the infrastructure rollout, e-Office connectivity was successfully established at PARC Research Establishments (PREs), including MARS-Jaglote, MARS Skardu, MARS Chillas, and AQD Gilgit-Baltistan, ensuring seamless access to the platform and enabling smooth inter-center digital communication.

At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Maqsood Qamar, Director General, MARC,Gilgit expressed his appreciation for the MIS team’s commitment and expertise. He particularly acknowledged the efforts of Mr. Amanullah & Mr. Jawad in delivering effective and engaging training.

 


 

2. Training Workshop at & Establishment of e-Office Connectivity at MARS, Skardu.

Date: 22.09.2025

Venue: MARS, Skardu

The second training session was specifically arranged for the scientists and administrative officials of MARS, Skardu.

The workshop focused on enabling regional staff to effectively integrate the e-Office system into their daily research and administrative activities. The MIS team presented real-case scenarios and guided the participants through the system to ensure smooth adaptation and practical understanding.

In addition to the training, e-Office connectivity was successfully established at MARS-Skardu, ensuring seamless access to the digital platform for real-time communication, file processing, and inter-departmental coordination.

At the conclusion of the session, Mr. Muhammad Ayub, Incharge MARS-Skardu, highlighted the importance of digital adoption in improving internal workflows, promoting institutional transparency, and ensuring timely service delivery.


3. Training Workshop & Establishment of e-Office Connectivity at AQD Gilgit-Baltistan

Date: 24.09.2025
Venue: AQD Gilgit-Baltistan

The third training session was organized specifically for the scientists and administrative staff of Animal Quarantine Department (AQD),Gilgit by following the Direction of Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFS&R), Islamabad.

This workshop aimed to equip the regional team with the necessary skills to seamlessly integrate the e-Office platform into their routine research and administrative workflows. The MIS team provided hands-on demonstrations and walked participants through practical scenarios to facilitate smooth adoption of the system.

Alongside the training, e-Office connectivity was successfully implemented at AQD Gilgit, ensuring uninterrupted access to the digital platform for efficient document management, communication, and workflow processing.
