  • Chairman PARC Emphasizes Commitment to Agricultural Transformation and Research Excellence
     

Islamabad (November 4, 2025): Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), while addressing a gathering of scientists from PARC and its research establishments across the country, reaffirmed the Government’s strong commitment to agricultural transformation and development through research, innovation, and technology.

Chairman PARC stated that under the leadership of the Honourable Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFS&R) is fully dedicated to revolutionizing Pakistan’s agricultural sector. He emphasized that PARC, being a key arm of the Ministry, must harness its full potential to ensure national food and nutritional security through high-impact, demand-driven research and technological advancements.

Chairman PARC urged scientists to bring their research and innovation in line with international standards. He underlined that the Government is committed to achieving agricultural transformation and this requires dedication, discipline, and accountability from all employees. He further stressed that there will be no leniency for underperformance, as strict monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are being put in place to ensure efficiency and results. “Excellence and productivity must define our work culture,” he added.

While appreciating the efforts of hardworking scientists and researchers who are contributing effectively to PARC’s mission, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi acknowledged their role in strengthening Pakistan’s agricultural research base and ensuring national food and nutritional security. During the meeting, Dr. Andrabi also referred to the recent visit of Chinese delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) to highlight improvement and strategic steps required to bring PARC at par with leading international research organizations. He noted that PARC will carefully consider recommendations of the Chinese delegation and take concrete measures to develop PARC into a state-of-the-art agricultural research institution equipped to meet global challenges.

Chairman PARC reiterated PARC’s resolve to work in close collaboration with national and international partners to strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural innovation system and to ensure food security and sustainable development.
