Chairman PARC, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi exchanging a Memorandum of Understanding, signed between PARC and Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC) to Strengthen Collaboration for Advancement of Pakistan's Horticulture Sector at PARC Hqs Islamabad on 27-10-2025 The MoU was signed at PARC Headquarters, Islamabad. This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration in areas including capacity building, information dissemination, research and development, commercialization, value addition, certification, and co-branding of horticultural products. Under the agreement, PARC and PHDEC will jointly undertake initiatives such as development of capacity-building programs, execution of R&D projects, exchange of technical expertise and scientific information, and organization of seminars, workshops, and training sessions. Both organizations will also facilitate access to laboratories, field activities and data resources to support innovation and quality enhancement in the horticulture sector. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PARC, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hasan Andrabi said that this partnership represents a vital step toward strengthening the research–industry linkage in Pakistan’s horticulture sector. By combining PARC’s research expertise with PHDEC’s market-oriented approach, we aim to enhance productivity, quality and export competitiveness of Pakistan’s horticultural produce. He further emphasized that collaborative initiatives such as this MoU are instrumental in ensuring that the country’s research outcomes translate into tangible economic benefits for growers, exporters and the national economy. The partnership aligns with the Government of Pakistan’s broader vision of agricultural modernization, sustainable development and export-led growth. Both PARC and PHDEC reaffirmed their commitment to working closely in realizing the potential of Pakistan’s diverse horticultural resources and strengthening the country’s position in regional and international markets.
