Islamabad, November 27, 2025 (PR&P,PARC) Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), in partnership with the Korea Partnership for Innovation of Agriculture(KOPIA), successfully completed a six-month national training program titled “Artificial Insemination in Cow/Buffalo.” The program, conducted from April 21 to November 06, 2025, trained 56 participants representing all regions of Pakistan, including Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

A Certificate Award Ceremony was held at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC), Islamabad, to formally recognize the achievements of the trainees. The initiative forms part of the KOPIA Technical Cooperation Project, “Breed Improvement through Efficient Artificial Insemination Services Using Korean Holstein Semen in Cattle,” which seeks to enhance Pakistan’s livestock productivity through improved genetic potential and strengthened AI services.

Chief Guest Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, Chairman PARC and Principal Investigator of the project, stressed the pivotal role of advanced breeding technologies in strengthening Pakistan’s agricultural economy. He emphasized the importance of skilled human resources for achieving productivity gains and encouraged the trainees to uphold professional integrity. Dr. Andrabi also highlighted persistent challenges—such as the absence of organized breed registries and limited extension services, and noted the critical role of trained AI technicians in addressing these gaps.

Mr. Park Intae, Director KOPIA Pakistan, reaffirmed KOPIA’s commitment to building Pakistan’s technical capacity in modern reproductive technologies, emphasizing their direct benefits to farming communities and sustainable food systems. Dr. Aish Muhammad, Coordinator Projects at KOPIA Pakistan, commended the successful completion of the training and underscored the necessity of initiating a second phase to broaden the scope of AI services across the livestock sector.

Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Director General NARC, concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of trainers, project teams, and supporting staff. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to trainees and resource persons, followed by the presentation of shields to PARC and KOPIA dignitaries.
