SOCIAL SCIENCES DIVISION

PARC, Islamabad

Social Sciences Division conducts research through its six Technology Transfer Institutes (TTIs). These institutes are located one each at all the provinces, NARC, Islamabad and Garhi Dopatta, Muzaffarabad, AJK and one at Gilgit. The Social Sciences Division (SSD, HQ) facilitates these TTIs through research management and research coordination. The research under the SSD setup is done in close collaboration with the biological scientists, and the major thrust of research is in the direction of supporting farm technology design and its transfer to the farmers’ fields.

OBJECTIVES

To plan, coordinate and conduct research in social sciences discipline in close collaboration with biological scientists.
To conduct research in support of farm technology design and its transfer to farmers' fields.
To study the impact of farm policy on farm output, income and employment.
