Collection, maintenance and curation of insect fauna of Pakistan for research, education and support to the regulatory functions in the agro-eco systems of Pakistan.

GOAL
Large scale and sustainable implementation IPM in Pakistan, rationalizing the use of pesticide while maintaining production levels and increasing farmer's profit.

Collection, Preservation, Identification and circulation of Insect specimens for research.
Document spatial and temporal occurrence of species of insects and arachnids and their hosts.
To improve existing infrastructure for storage, study and communication of insect specimens-based information on biodiversity.
To Provide pest alert services to stakeholders.
Application of results in conservation efforts of endangered insect fauna of Pakistan.

ACHIEVEMENTS

A total of 3000 specimens have been collected.
So far 80 cocinellids (Ladybird beetles) species have been identified.
Thirty three species of Papilionids (Swallowtail butterflies) have been identified.
Thirty species of Sphingids (Hawk moths) have been identifies.
In addition 250 species belonging to different insect orders like Lepidoptera, Coleoptera have been identifies.
Identification services have been provided to University students.
