Plant Physiology Program

Facilities

Plant Physiology Program is equipped with laboratory, greenhouse and field testing facilities.

Spectrophotometry

  • Quantitative measurements organic solutes i.e. Leaf chlorophyll, carbohydrates, proteins, proline and antioxidants etc.

Flame Photometry

Quantitative measurements inorganic solutes i.e.sodium and potassium ions concentration

Spectral reflectance techniques

  • Infrared thermometry (crop canopy temperature measurement)
  • Leaf chlorophyll (SPAD value)
  • NDVI sensing (vegetation index measurements)
  • Photosynthetic efficiency (Infrared Gas analyzer)

Morphological & agronomic traits measurements

Services

Sharing climatic stress tolerant crops germplasm with breeding programs to provide basis for the development of climate resilient crop cultivars.
