Establishment of Kitchen gardeners Clubs
Vegetable program, NARC, Islamabad established “Kitchen Gardener’s` clubs” for the people of Rawalpindi/ Islamabad. We received a very good response and up till now total numbers of established clubs are 132 out of which 59 are women`s clubs, 65 are men`s club and 7 Institute`s clubs.

Pakistan girl Guides Association ICT organized a kitchen gardening activity in collaboration with National Agriculture Research Center (NARC) and Capital development Authority (CDA) at PGGA National Headquarters. In the beginning Ms. Arjumand Shamim, Trainer ICT explained the objectives of this activity to the Guides. Ms. Huma Abbass from NARC highlighted benefits and practical ways of kitchen gardening. Later, participants were taken to the field for practical demonstration. |
Seeds / Seedlings of highly productive varieties for Sale
In order to promote interest in kitchen gardening, vegetable program, NARC, Islamabad have arranged seeds of peas, leaf mustard, fenugreek, spinach, coriander, turnip, radish, carrot and seedlings of cabbage, Chinese cabbage, red cabbage, asparagus, mint , lettuce leafy red, lettuce leafy green, ice burg lettuce, brussels sprout, knol khol, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, okra, chili, tomato brinjal, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, ridge gourd, sponge gourd, vegetable marrow, zucchini, water melon, musk melon, cantaloupe and cucumber.
Lectures / training course/ demonstration plots
In order to create awareness about vegetables as kitchen gardening and to promote public interest, several lectures and short terms training courses coupled with demonstration plots were carried out in different academic institutions of respective areas
