Islamabad (04th Feb., 2019)…….. A signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding was held at PARC HQs, Islamabad between Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Islamabad and Rural Support Programmes Network, Islamabad for collaboration of mutual benefit, capacity building support and improve livelihoods of the poor community in Pakistan. A delegation from Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN), Islamabad headed by Ms. Shandana H. Khan, Chief Executive Officer (RSPN) visited PARC HQs on 04 February, 2019 for the purpose.
The objective of the MoU is to seek benefits for existing technical resources of NARC for implementation of Climate smart agriculture (Vegetable and crop production), Live Stock, Poultry and Fisheries related interventions in rural areas of Pakistan.
As per terms & conditions of the Memorandum, NARC will provide the technical assistance; share best international practices; facilitate for organizing of different training events related to Agriculture as Live Stock, Poultry and Fisheries by providing training facilities; foster linkage of RSPN for implementation of agriculture related projects/programmes in Pakistan; advice RSPN about approved varieties of vegetables, crop seeds, breed of livestock & poultry; and also provide technical endorsement for agriculture proposals and modules. RSPN will facilitate NARC in seeking community level support for research to be conducted on different aspects of livestock, poultry and fisheries. RSPN will share community level issues on Agriculture, Live Stock, Poultry and Fisheries with NARC and provide space in RSPN’s Karachi office & targeted districts of Sindh.
Ms. Shandana H. Khan CEO Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN), Islamabad appreciated PARC efforts in agriculture sector and also thanked Dr. Yusuf Zafar T.I., Chairman PARC who has kindly consented to get MoU signed between Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN) and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC). She also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Yusuf Zafar T.I., Chairman PARC for development of agriculture sector in the Country. Chairman, PARC also shared his views on the occasion that the partnership of both parties will become fruitful to remove the poverty through up lifting the agriculture of country.
