PARC Adopting New Techniques for Development in Crops and Livestock Sector

Islamabad: (9th August, 2017)…….Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) is adopting new research technologies for development in Crops and Livestock. It is said by Dr. Yusuf Zafar T.I., Chairman PARC in his opening remarks to the participants of “Competitive Grant Selection Committee Meeting” held at PARC HQs Islamabad on 9th August, 2017. The meeting has been arranged by Agricultural Innovation Program (AIP) for Pakistan under PARC-CIMMYT-USAID.


Dr. Yusuf Zafar T.I., Chairman PARC further said that under AIP, Agricultural funds are provided to PARC for development of Agri. Sector. Livestock sector has an important value as well as crops in Pakistan. Male young stock (feeding on same ration) of cross breeds of “Baluchistan Nari Master”, “Bagh Nari” and “Red Sindhi” are compared for their “Weight Gain Ability” at Beef Production Research Centre, Sibbi. He further added that detection of Mycotoxin in Poultry feeds of Baluchistan and its bio control has also been developed by using probiotic bacteria.

Other participants of the meeting also expressed their views on microbiological upgradation of industrial waste and their role in poultry fed fortification, effect of different antibiotics & steroidal residus in Chicken meat with their effect on human in Punjab.
