Pakistan Provincial Service Academy Peshawar arranged one day inland study tour for 77th pre-service course for Assistant Commissioners and Section Officers, Government of Baluchistan. The group of thirty-three participants visited PARC Institute of Research on High Value Agriculture, Shinkiari (Mansehra) on 13rd February, 2018. Dr. F.S. Hamid, Director (PIRHA) welcomed the participants and briefed in detail about the Institute’s Research and Developmental activities specifically on horticultural crops. He also briefed through presentation regarding history of tea in Pakistan, present status and future prospects. The visitors were alsohighlighted research activities of the Institute on high value fruits & vegetables crops like kiwifruits & olive cultivation and its extension through new innovative technology. Dr. Abdul Waheed, PSO shared the knowledge of black and green tea processing at Institute. Mr. Qamar-uz-zaman, PSO demonstrated practically about tea plantation, garden management, pruning and plucking techniques of tea in the field. The group of Pakistan Provincial Service Academy Peshawar visited quality control, soil and horticulture labs and very much impressed by the research cum developmental activities. At the last faculty member of the group paid thanks to management of the Institute and presented shield to the Director, PARC Institute of Research on High value Agriculture, Shinkiari (Mansehra) as an memorandum of their visit at the Institute.
