Livestock is the Future of Small Farmers: Sindh Govt. Fully Supports the PARC New Initiatives. Nawab Talpur, Advisor to Chief Minister of Sindh

Islamabad (8th September 2016)……. Live stock is the future of small farmers. Sindh Government fully support the PARC new initiatives for the promotion of agriculture and livestock sectors in Pakistan. The prosperity of country revolves around the democracy, this was stated by Nawab Taimour Talpur, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh Govt. on the occasion of inauguration of Small Ruminants Model Farm in Umar Kot, Kundri.  Mr. Talpur Said agriculture scientists should focus & target the small farmers with modern technology and educate the farmers by new innovations and new breeds. 

While Chairman, PARC Dr. Nadeem Amjad addressing to the scientists and farming community said that PARC scientists are extending all facilities for the development of poor farmers in rural areas of Pakistan. M/o NFSR and PARC both always respond to the call of Govt. of Sindh for the uplift of Sindh Farmer’s Community. Incharge of AIP presented over the view of the project including Sindh Province. Dr. Shahid Rafiq Member ASD, PARC scientists, and public representative including elected Chairman also addressed and highlighted the problems of small farmers. They discussed the AIP (Agriculture Innovation Program) idea of Small Ruminant Model Farm in the context of Small Ruminants Value Chain, in different areas of Pakistan. The Model Farm is comprised of specific building design with specific areas for breeding & rearing according to proper production parameters of health and nutrition. The total cost of a model farm was around Rs. 800,000/-. The farmers and ILRI/ICARDA share was 50-50%. The main idea of Model Farm consisting objectives, specification and expected outputs were explained by the Incharge AIP.
