GOAL
Development of safe and sustainable integrated pest management strategies in
agro-ecosystems
OBJECTIVES

Investigation
on the fate of agrochemicals in Food chain & Environment. Impact
of pesticides on human health & non-target organisms Advisory
Services on pesticide residue. To
study bionomics and management of vertebrate pests causing damage to
crops, fruit orchards, range and desert lands, forest plantations,
stored grains and other natural resources. To study biology, phenology, ecology and management of economically important resources. |

ACTIVITIES
Development and optimization of methods for determination of pesticide residues in food chain and ecosystem.
Pesticide Residue Analysis in water, soil and food of plant and animal origin.
Colonial water birds as bio-indicators of pollution.
Judicious and safe use of agrochemicals to safeguard the beneficial micro fauna and flora.
Collaboration with national and international organizations.

Human Resource Development
Post-graduate Research: 12 M.Sc (Hons.) and five M.Phil students have completed their research thesis. One Ph.D Scholar has completed his thesis while other one is in progress.
