MISSION
Systematize NARC research activities for optimization of resources and synthesize work output.
 

OBJECTIVE

• Plan and prioritize research

• Monitoring / evaluation of research

• Coordination of research related activities

• Technical support to NARC Management

• Develop data base on research projects/ achievements/ activities/ human resources/ linkages etc

ACTIVITIES

• Arrange meeting of Technical Working Groups (TWG’s)

• Arrange Meetings of Research Implementation & Management Committee (RIMC)

• Arrange meetings of Project Scrutiny Committee (PSC)

• Carry out sporadic visits of the programs and discuss with scientists about research activities, problems and achievements

• Collect periodic reports from programs to assess their financial and technical progress

• Coordinate evaluation/ monitoring committees

• Help in organizing seminars, lectures, meetings and workshops for exchange of technical information among NARC and other institutions/ agencies

• Correspondence/ briefings, conduct reviews and other activities to develop close working liaison between, NARC, PARC and NARS system

• Facilitate training of scientists

• Collect and compile monthly activity report for PM secretariat

• Facilitate DG, in all technical matters

• Prepare replies for MINFA, Standing Committees, Senate etc

• Prepare presentations/ coordinate in writing of speeches/ messages on different occasions

• Coordinate holding of different functions like World Food Day, Dr. Borlaug’s Award etc

• Documentation of research projects being undertaken and their funding sources, topics of research being carried out, budget involved, important outcomes i.e. technologies developed, knowledge generated for benefit of farmers/ country

• Develop human resource data base on training, opportunities and needs

• Develop linkages with national and international organizations and different funding sources
