SERVICES
Rice Programme extends following services to public as well as private organizations:
Research
Acquisition and distribution of rice germplasm to various collaborators.
Evaluation of candidate varieties and rice hybrids for adaptability, resistance to insect pests and diseases and grain quality.
Conducting and maintenance of various trials established at KSK by different programmes/sections of NARC.
Extension
Extends advisory services to farming community on rice production/protection issues from time to time. In addition, farmers’ are also made aware of various resource conservation technologies (RCT’s) while establishing farmer participatory research trials at their own farms.
Education
Scientists of rice programme also extend advisory/research services (as supervisor) to various M.Sc, PhD and sandwich (internees) students from different universities.
Trainings are also imparted to in-service extension staff and rice growers at time to time.
