ACHIEVEMENTS
Successfully demonstrated production of organic wheat, lentil, mash, sunflower and vegetable crops at NARC with higher remuneration as compared to that obtained by using chemical field inputs.
The indicated deficiency of micro-nutrients in citrus orchards was overcome by successful application of organic salts at NARC. Management of major pests (aphids and army worms) was demonstrated through application of bio-pesticides at farmers’ fields.
Three bioproduct; biofertilizer, biopesticide and bioherbicide manufacturing units have been installed at NARC. Similar work has been started at Benazirabad and Sangher in Sindh.
Established organic farms across the country
A Network of Organic Agriculture in Pakistan (NEOAP) under National Institute of Organic Agriculture (NIOA), NARC has been established and launching campaign for registration of organic farmers and traders. For registration organic farmers can download the application form.
Provided support services to IDPs at Shah Mansoor, Yar Hussain Mira, Sheikh Yasin, Sheikh Shehzad and Punja Sahib, Hassan Abdal.
Gave training on Organic Farming to 200 farmers at Burewala, on Organic Vegetables and Mushroom Production to 45 farmers at Muzaffarabad, AJK and on Organic Home/Kitchen Gardening to 40 farmers/home gardeners at NARC.

holders and a large number of growers, scientists, teachers and consumers and
have shown their deep interest in our new interventions.
