Online data of “Nymphalid Butterflies of Pakistan” is developed where 614 specimens with 69 species were identified. Among them nine (9) species are new records for Pakistan and 10 species also belonging to different countries i.e. Bangladesh five, Iran one, Japan three and Oman one. Voucher specimens of Family Nymphalidae present in museum has been prepared and can be accessed at the following web site:
Papilionidae (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) of Pakistan
http://www.geocities.com/tgorw_se/index.html
The swallowtails (Papilionidae) of Pakistan, belong to two subfamilies i.e Parnassiinae and Papilionidae. The former contains one tribe, 2 genera with 15 species and the latter with three tribes, five genera with 13 species.
Barcode of life data system: Advancing species identification and discovery through the analysis of short, standardizes gene region. Four species of Geometrid moths (i.e. Ascotis selenaria, Biston suppressaria, Alcis depravata and Alcis sp.) are linked with International project entitled “Canadian DNA barcoding Programme” and can be accessed on following sites:
