What are the major recommendations for farmers to improve fodder
production/ productivity?
Ans. Major Recommendations for Farmers
The following are the major recommendations for farmers to get maximum fodder
production:
· Cultivate improved/ recommended fodder varieties resistant to insects, pests, diseases, lodging and drought.
· Crop be sown at proper time following improved production technology i.e. fine seedbed preparation, recommended fertilizer dose at proper crop stage (at sowing and tiller formation) after soil testing and recommended seed rate with drill sowing.
· Sow disease free and weed free seed.
· Farmers may opt for better fodder conservation skills.
· Multicut Bajra and Sadabahar hybrid cultivation should be promoted for high green fodder yield and availability over prolong season.
