      Functions of Directorate of Public Sector Development Program (PSDP):

 

  • Development and formulation of multidisciplinary R&D projects;
  • Appraisal/scrutiny of projects submitted by PARC’s scientists;
  • Processing for approval at appropriate forums (DDWP, CDWP, ECNEC);
  • Implementation of Mega R&D projects of PARC;
  • Preparation of Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for submission to Planning Commission for budget allocation;
  • Defending Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of PARC at different forums (priorities Committee, APCC and NEC);
  • Preparation of Annual Work Plan/Cash Plan of the projects included in the PSDP;
  • Approval of Work/Cash Plan from Principal Accounting Officer, Planning Commission and FA’s Organization;
  • Submission of Monthly and Quarterly progress Reports received from PDs/P.Is to concerned quarters (P.M. Secretariat, P&D Division and the Ministry);
  • Resolving issues of ongoing projects (revision, re-appropriation, extension etc);
  • Conversion of Development projects towards Regular side (need basis) and undertake other completion formalities (settlement of assets, staff etc);
  • Maintain record of completed projects;
  • To arrange monitoring and evaluate of PSDP projects from the Directorate of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation; and
  • To develop and maintain a data base of ongoing as well as completed agricultural research projects.
