R&D SCOPE
The R&D scope of SARC is quite extensive ranging from problem oriented research to provision of analytical and advisory service on specific issues. Following are the major areas of interest at SARC:
Grain protection, quality certification of grains, testing of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural produce to meet import and export requirements
Testing of mycotoxins, pesticides, and other residues in food and feed commodities
Screening of wheat varieties against rust under hot and humid environment
Development and propagation of new sugarcane varieties
Research on arid and coastal agriculture
Rodent control at farm, market and in civic bodies including seaport and airports
Provision of analytical services for the composition of animal/poultry feed
Provision of technical support to livestock farmers for breeding, feeding and health issues
Field application of research results/ technologies in Sindh and Baluchistan
Teaching and research support to post-graduate students at the University of Karachi
