ADMINISTRATIVE SET UP

Administratively, PARC is an autonomous body attached to the Agricultural Research Wing (ARW) of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. The management of the affairs of the Council is vested in the:

- Board of Governors
- Executive Committee
- Chairman

Board of Governors

The Board of Governors (BoG) is responsible for the overall control, direction and superintendence of the affairs of PARC. It is assisted by the Research Advisory Committee. The Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, GoP is the President of the BoG. The BoG has been reconstituted and notified on 27/12/2006 with its following members for three years:

Research Advisory Committee

The Research Advisory Committee has been established in 1999 the advisory body of the BoG. Its objective is to institute a mechanism of broad-based consultation involving scientists, researchers, planners, policy makers, professionals of excellence and other stakeholders of agricultural research.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee consists of the Chairman and the five whole-time Members of the Council. The EC is responsible for:

• Undertaking regular review and evaluation of the accomplishments and progress of the research projects and the programmes of the research organizations

• Exercising control over the research activities of the Council

Chairman

The Chairman is the Chief Scientific and Administrative Executive of the Council and is assisted by several functionaries of the level of Members and Directors in the execution of day to day work.
