(NATURAL RESOURCES) REQUIRED
Pakistan
Agricultural Research Council (PARC) an apex body for agricultural
research in Pakistan is looking for dynamic and eminent Research Manager.
The candidates should have proven capabilities in research planning,
management and policy formulation for the position of Member, Natural
Resources. The Technical Members of the Council are expected to have
strategic vision, high level of technical skills and demonstrated
leadership in their respective disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE

Ph.D
in discipline related to Natural Resources (Land, Water, Forests,
Range Management etc.).
-
Proven
leadership in strategic planning and management of agricultural
research. Atleast 20 years & above experience in R&D
organization / recognized institutions of research / higher learning
(Persons working in private sector or abroad having equivalent
experience can also apply).
-
Minimum
15 research publications in internationally referred journals / books.
-
Experience
in managing a large multi disciplinary group of scientists and
researchers.

Age
maximum: 57 years (relaxable in exceptional cases)

Nationality:
Pakistani
-
Appointment
against the post will be made on contract basis for a period of three
years.

The
position carries salary in BS-21 with usual allowances, facilities and
fringe benefits as admissible to the employees of Federal Government
working in the same scale.

FUNCTIONS
/ JOB DESCRIPTION
-
To
assist the Chairman in the discharge of his functions as Chief
Executive of the Council entrusted with the responsibilities of
execution of research programs and development projects in accordance
with PARC Ordinance and other general or specific orders issued by the
Federal Government from time to time.
-
To
undertake planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of
projects and programs in the areas of Natural Resources and
Environment Management and organize utilization of research results.
-
In
view of severe water shortages, accelerated degradation of land and
deterioration of rangelands, he/she will plan, organize and coordinate
national programs for enhanced agricultural productivity on
sustainable basis.

To
supervise and coordinate the research management in N.R. Division at
PARC Headquarter.
-
To
supervise and control Centers / Institutes /Projects placed under
his/her charge for smooth running and coordination of administrative,
financial and technical matters and to maintain close liaison with
concerned agencies / departments, international organizations and
advisory bodies to promote agricultural research.
-
To
act as Member in the meeting of the Board of Governors and the
Executive Committee for taking policy decisions in respect of research
and development schemes, important agreements, financial approval for
execution of projects and framing rules and procedures on
administrative and technical matters.
